Apple users with the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S may have experienced an issue after upgrading to iOS 5.0.1. User contacts are no longer linking up with the phone numbers! Most of the users affected were on Verizon Wireless.
Fortunately, some of our Chicago IT Consultants in our Managed Services department found the solution.
From your Verizon iPhone, follow these steps:
1. Dial *228, press option 1. Hang up.
2. Dial *228, press option 2. Hang up.
3. Perform a hard reset. Hold the center home button, and the top on/off button at the top until you see the Apple icon. Then release.
PLEASE NOTE: You MUST hold the two buttons even though you will see a red slider to power off the phone. Hold the buttons until you see the Apple icon.
When your phone boots back up, you’ll notice your contact names are again associated with the phone numbers in the Messages area of the iPhone.
